The Groveton football team participated in this year’s “Big Homecoming,” Which consisted of the football game, the crowning of the queen, the parade, and a dance. Leading up to the game, the cheerleaders and the coaches held a pep rally to help the team and the community get pumped for the events occurring later that evening.

The football team had the privilege of playing against Normangee, both teams fought hard, but ultimately, Groveton won with a score of 34-0. It’s hard to place a favorite moment on such a good night, but Senior Tyler Allen had no problem doing so. He says his favorite part of the game was “Not only winning but seeing Billy Thomas and Bryon Thomas do their celebration. They were so happy and genuinely excited.” In addition, he says, “The atmosphere was like that of no other. All the energy and spirit from the student section, the parents, and the band made the experience much more enjoyable.”
